The Membership

NEW MEMBERS WANTED! Please contact the committee.

Old Buckwellians Football Club who were formed in 1949 to enable ex-pupils of Buckhurst Hill County High School to continue playing football after having left the school.

Obviously with the closure of the school some 20 years ago our automatic source of players has dried up somewhat. We have managed to keep the club thriving through word of mouth but most of our members are now over 25 and we are therefore faced with a requirement to generate a younger influx of players.

We run 3 teams that play Saturday afternoons in the London Old Boys League and have recently moved our facilities to Avondale due to poor changing facilities and inadequately maintained pitches at BHCHS, we train Tuesday evenings over at Redbridge sports centre under lights, we have a post match arrangement with The Three Colts to provide food and entertainment for our home and opposition teams and are a well run and profitable club.
